A 34-year-old man, who had a psychiatric history, plunged to his death, late last Friday, from his 33rd-floor apartment at 120 DeKruif Place, police said.

The victim was found face down on the side of the DeKruif Place building, police noted. His identity was withheld.

Onlookers gathered around the building to watch, as officers from Co-op City's Public Safety Department and the NYPD, in addition to emergency medical technicians from the city and the Riverbay Corporation, investigated the death.

Investigators from the city's Medical Examiner's Office arrived at the scene an hour after the 11:30 a.m. plunge.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of his jump, before he was carted off to the city's morgue for identification by members of his family.
