Parents beware of that establishment!!! It is not !safe near or around there... Plus.. The sad part is that Leo Johnson protects the Identity of gang members.. He won't corporate with law enforcement or anyone else on giving information when it comes to this Hooligans.. What about the innocent ones that goes to that establishment.. Don't have a saying or to be protected by these bullies!

I went over there once Leo told my mom back in '10 i stood there for about a week then I start seeing crips with the bandanas askin me if i wanna buy n they g look hispanics hard in this section like it sucks that i cant even go outside anymore without the fear of being caught in the crossfire or getting jumped by the basketball court benches like last year... It aint just the kids fault, it the parents for saying oh it aint my son my son knows better all ican say is bullsh*t you work long hours and you dont even get to see your kid like wtf. anyway besides the many dealers and crips its a decent place to live im just glad i never went to truman..... Nuff said

Wow, I am so sorry you feel that way. I thought the Teen Center was a positive thing in the community. Maybe the people you see are not actually members of the teen center. I know Leo Johnson who runs the place and I am almost positive that he would not allow what you see going on.

So I have read a few articles of some people being unhappy about the possible closing of the Gloria Wise Teen Center in Coop City Section 5... Teen Center? You're got to be kdding me.. Please.

More like a hang out for gang members and other misfits that have no where else to go. My window looks out onto the "Teen Center" In section 5.

On any given evening these youth are all over the grounds drinking, smoking pot and being loud and rowdy. They create drugs, drinking, guns, violence and unsafe conditions in our Coop City community. It seems that the majority of them may not even live in Co-op City.

As a member of the community and a parent and grandparent, I would NEVER allow my kids anywhere near that place. This center is a main source as to why section 5 is the worst section in all of co op city.. Close it down NOW!
