I think that "Anne" who praised Compass Rock and CW Capital is probably an employee of one of those entities' PR department. I live in Stuyvesant Town and I am telling you the absolute truth when I tell you that they are the lousiest management company you will ever come across.
If you have a flood in your apartment, they will tell you they have no plumber available for several days; if your AC (the ones that they provide in the high rent units) breaks down in the summer, they will tell you that nobody is available to fix it until October!
The property is full of students (mostly NYU, but some attending Parsons School of Design and SVA) and they party hearty all the time and have no respect for hardworking tenants who have to get up and go to work in the morning or have children that need to sleep and get up for school.
Also, because there is only one bathroom in each apartment and they are cramming in several students into each unit, the drunken slobs will go and pee in the stairwells. There have been many incidents of them vomiting and even defecating in the stairwells.
I could go on about Compass Rock's bloodsucking and incompetent, unprofessional treatment of all tenants, even those paying over $5k per month for their units, but there just is not enough space here to do it!
I suggest you look at the Stuvesant Town Peter Cooper VillageTenants Association facebook page or check out the blog: https://stuytownreport.blogspot.com/ because there you will find the truth about the place. FWIW, Compass Rock frequently posts glowing reviews on Yelp - and yes, we know it is themselves who are posting!
You will regret it for a long, long time if you let these despicable manage Coop City because their style of "management" is the absolute bottom of the barrel scrapings.

I've lived in StuyTown for well over a decade. The above characterisation of CompassRock and CW Capital are - in my view, and given my experience - quite unfair. Despite the strong collective power of tenants backed by politicians (some of whom live in the complex) who are always whining about something or the other, I believe CR and CW have done well. I rate them A+.

I live in Stuyvesant Town and I can attest that Compass Rock is a lousy, sleazy company that will bleed you dry and ruin Co-op City. Don't let them get a leg in the door. They are a bunch of grifters.

DO NOT HIRE COMPASS ROCK MANAGEMENT for Co-op City Riverbay Corporation management.
It would be a horrendous mistake to hire that inept, greedy management company for Co-Op City.
They have done terrible damage to Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village. They have a double standard for residents based on financial status; common repairs are now delayed a week and they ignore quality of life complaints because they believe those problems are driving out regulated renters hastening the demise of the community.
HURRICANE SANDY - Compass Rock Management did literally nothing to prepare. As a result over a dozen buildings were completely flooded and left without emergency lighting in halls or stairways. Elderly, disabled and ill residents were left without food, water or medication for days while CR did nothing.
In the end it was left to an OUTSIDE group of volunteers to haul packs of water, snacks and flashlights to those residents, while Compass Rock Management did nothing but hand out pieces of paper to residents already mobile and at street level.
When I asked a manager why there was no provisions, no lights and no preparation, her answer was "we're not a hardware store."
And there you have it! That's CR's attitude towards dealing with a crises. So just imagine how they deal with everyday issues.
Do not let this inept bunch of greedy hustlers from Colorado destroy Co-Op City. They know nothing about managing apartment complexes in NYC and don't even care because it's all about cutting corners, cutting services and making money.
