The basic duties of the Riverbay Commercial Leasing department include managing the day-to-day operations of Co-op City's three shopping and community centers.

The Riverbay Co-op City Commercial Leasing Department negotiates and finalizes all commercial and professional tenant leases and implement and supervise all necessary repairs and renovations in the shopping and community centers. The Co-op City Riverbay Commercial Leasing Department also supervise janitorial staff and their supervisors who clean, sweep, strip, wax, remove garbage and snow and set up community rooms in the shopping and community centers seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The Riverbay Commercial Leasing Department also supervises the rental of community rooms. While some rooms are rented to Co-op City organizations permanently, most are rented for periods ranging from one day to multiple days.

The Riverbay Co-op City Commercial Leasing Department ensures that contracts are properly executed, collect fees, distribute security deposits, prepare and execute short-term leases and assist in setting up and selling tickets for Co-op City's annual fairs.

In addition, teh Riverbay Co-op City Commercial Leasing Department ensure commercial and professional compliance with commercial lease parameters, insurance requirements, and New York City's Building Department regulations and represent RiverBay Corporation at court appearances.

The Riverbay Commercial Leasing Department address all merchant and cooperator concerns pertaining to the shopping and community centers and responds to all janitorial related emergencies throughout the Co-op City development after 4:00 p.m.
