CoOp City produces it's own electricity for use by all CoOp City residents. There is no reliance on Con Edison in CoOp City except in case of emergencies or failure. The CoOp City Power Plant Department is in charge of CoOp City power electric operations.
The CoOp City Power Plant Department is responsible for operating the central plant safely and efficiently while providing heat, hot water, air conditioning and electrical distribution to all CoOp City buildings. The CoOp City Power Plant department maintains and repairs all power plant equipment, building pump room equipment, high voltage electrical distribution and garage lighting.
