Coop City Job Ref #: 16-65, Temporary Groundsman (Coop City Grounds Department)

This job position pays $12.00/hr and is a non-union job.

Job Description:
Responsible for the day to day duties in the landscaping, maintenance of and general upkeep of Riverbay company grounds and Co-op City green spaces.

Responsibilities include basic grounds keeping duties such as planting flowers, trees and shrubs; weeding, fertilizing, mowing, cutting hedges, general lawn and nursery care plus seasonal duties including snow removal.

Job Requirements:

• HS Diploma or equivalent is a plus.


• Working knowledge of grounds equipment, tools and materials.


• Ability to walk for long periods of time, twist, kneel, push, stoop, climb ladders, work in inclement weather as well as lift and carry up to 100 pounds.


• Must be available for emergency work.


• Bi-lingual is a plus

Days and Hours:

• Flexible schedule

Testing Requirements:

• Drug Screening Test
