Coop City Job Ref #: 16-54, Temporary Utility Person (Riverbay Coop City Technical Services Department)

This Coop City Power Temporary Utility Person position pays $12.00 - $14.00 per hour and is a non union job.

Job Description:
Responsible for erecting, repairing and maintaining electronic infrastructure around Co-op City.

Responsibilities also include running of network cable, coax and fiber optic cable, installation of cameras, power supplies, network connections, emergency call boxes, avaya phones and matv service.

This is primarily a construction job with training for the technical end.

Job Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivalent required.

Valid Driver License (NY, NJ, CT or PA) required at time of appointment.

Must be capable of operating various hand and power tools.

Knowledge of cable and camera techniques is a plus but not necessary.

Knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements related to performing maintenance repairs.

Must be able to carry 80 pounds, to include an extension ladder.

Must have the ability to sit or walk for long periods of time, twist, kneel, push and stoop.

Must have strong working knowledge of basic hand tools, including power tools.

Must have problem solving skills and be able to think on your feet.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office that includes MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Must be able to work at heights.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Must be available for emergency work.

Bi-lingual is a plus.
